Your privacy is very important to us. Accordingly, we have developed this Policy in order for you to understand how we collect, use, communicate and disclose and make use of personal information. The following outlines our privacy policy.
Before or at the time of collecting personal information, we will identify the purposes for which information is being collected.
We will collect and use personal information solely with the objective of fulfilling those purposes specified by us and for other compatible purposes, unless we obtain the consent of the individual concerned or as required by law.
We will only retain personal information as long as necessary for the fulfilment of those purposes.
Personal data should be relevant to the purposes for which it is to be used, and, to the extent necessary for those purposes, should be accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
We do not sell, trade or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties in any manner that could be harmful, dangerous or violating your privacy. We are here to provide you with the interaction platform and if we are making you uncomfortable about your privacy, it is a feedback we want to hear from you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at privacy@bot.media
Chatbot running on bot.media only sees your activity within the conversation. We receive basic information from Facebook (name, locale, timezone, gender) to personalize the experience. We do not look at your Facebook profile or news feed.
We do not post anything to your Facebook wall or notify your friends that you are using Chatbot. If you choose to share a GIF or video from your conversation with Chatbot, however, they may see that it’s from the Chatbot page.
Conversations with Chatbot within Facebook Messenger are subject to the Facebook privacy policy. Facebook can see that you are talking to Chatbot, and they can see the content of the conversations. Users that access Chatbot via the Facebook Messenger platform are also subject to Facebook’s privacy policy.
Facebook’s Privacy Policy can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation.
We collect and process information from you when you join a conversation with chatbot & interact via sending texts, images, video and audiofiles. You may be asked to enter details about you, but you always have an option to change your mind when you wish to anonymize yourself or even completely delete information about you from our service.
We use the information we collect from all of our services to provide, maintain, protect and improve them, to develop new ones, and to protect our Sites and our users. We also use this information to offer you tailored content – like proper instructions how to get the most out of Chatbot.
We will ask for your consent before using information for a purpose other than those that are set out in this Privacy Policy.
bot.media processes personal information on servers of our infrastructure provider in Ireland. Therefore, we may process your personal information on a server located outside the country where you live.
People have different privacy concerns. Our goal is to be clear about what information we collect, so that you can make meaningful choices about how it is used.
For example:
Wherever it is optional to collect additional information about you, we transparently inform you about what information we need, why we ask for it and we require your consent to process such information. When you change your mind, there is always a convenient way how to let us know.
You can always set your own privacy preferences and therefore decide whether you agree to be on our radar when it comes personalize conversations or not.
You can change information about you or completely permanently delete your profile in the Chatbot if you wish to be “forgotten”.
Whenever you use our services, we aim to provide you with access to your personal information. If that information is wrong, we strive to give you ways to update it quickly or to delete it – unless we have to keep that information for legitimate business or legal purposes.
We will protect personal information by reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
We aim to maintain our services in a manner that protects information from accidental or malicious destruction. Because of this, after you delete information from our services, we may not immediately delete residual copies from our active servers and may not remove information from our backup systems - such information is completely removed according to our backup retention policy after 28 days.
We do not share personal information with companies, organizations and individuals outside of bot.media unless one of the following circumstances applies:
With your consent. We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of bot.media when we have your consent to do so. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of any sensitive personal information.
For external processing. We provide personal information to our affiliates or other trusted businesses or persons to process it for us, based on our instructions and in compliance with our Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
For legal reasons. We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of bot.media if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:
meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request;
enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations;
detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues;
protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of bot.media, our users or the public as required or permitted by law.
We may share non-personally identifiable information publicly and with our partners – like publishers, advertisers or connected sites. For example, we may share information publicly to show trends about the general use of our services.
We work hard to protect bot.media and our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information we hold. In particular:
We encrypt our services using SSL, in transit and at rest as well.
We review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems.
We restrict access to personal information to those of bot.media staff, and third parties who need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.
bot.media may change this policy from time to time, and if we do we will post any changes on this page. If you continue to use the services after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised policy.
bot.media is committed to protecting the privacy of young children, and therefore does not knowingly collect or maintain personal information on the Chatbot or the service from persons under 16 years of age, except in compliance with children's online privacy protection law. Accordingly, children under the age of 16 may only use the service with the permission and supervision of their parents. Additionally, teachers and schools seeking to use the service in the classroom with children under 16 years of age are required to obtain express consent of such children's parents in compliance with the applicable law, prior to permitting such children to access or use the service.
By using our Chatbot and services, you consent to our Site Privacy Policy and the way how and for what purpose we process your personal information.
This Privacy Policy is effective as of April 20th, 2018.
